General Info:

  • Fun Fact: Did you know the filling in Kit Kats is made from damaged Kit Kats? Whenever a Kit Kat bar is somehow made imperfect during production like air bubbles or some other issue, the chocolate bar isn’t thrown out. Instead, it is ground up into a fine paste and turned into a filling that's then incorporated back into the production process to create new Kit Kat bars

  • Salesforce, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and U-Haul report earnings
  • The Federal Reserve (Fed) releases its Beige Book economic survey based on reports from its 12 district banks
  • Germany consumer price index (CPI) data for May
  • South African election takes place, with polls showing the ruling African National Congress (ANC) party could lose its majority for the first time since Nelson Mandela led the party to power in 1994


Thursday 05/30:

  • Costco, Royal Bank of Canada, and Dollar General report earnings
  • U.S. Q1 2024 GDP data (second reading)
  • U.S. initial jobless claims and continuing claims data
  • Eurozone consumer and economic confidence data for May
  • Eurozone unemployment data for April


Friday 05/31:

  • U.S. personal income and spending data for April, which includes personal consumption expenditures (PCE)
  • PCE is expected to have risen 0.3% month-over-month and 2.7% year-over-year
  • Core PCE, which excludes volatile food and energy costs and is the Fed’s preferred inflation gauge, is expected to have risen 0.2% month-over-month and 2.8% year-over-year
  • Eurozone CPI data for May
  • Japan unemployment, industrial production, and retail sales for April
  • Japan CPI data for May
