  • Fun Fact: A penguin living in the Edinburgh Zoo was granted knighthood in 2008. The penguin, named Nils Olav III, is the mascot of the King of Norway's Guard, making it a special figure for the country's military, and the knighting ceremony was an opportunity to celebrate the relations between Norway and Scotland

  • For example, pygmy squid are the smallest squid at 16mm (under an inch!). They use their ink clouds as hunting blinds. They shoot out a cloud of ink, hide behind it, then lunge through the ink to attack their prey

  • U.S. durable goods orders for May
  • Bank of England (BOE) releases its latest financial stability report
  • Eurozone economic confidence and consumer confidence data for June
  • Japan retail sales for May
  • China industrial profits for May

Friday 06/28:

  • U.S. personal income and spending data for May, which includes personal consumption expenditures (PCE)
  • PCE is expected to have been flat month-over-month and risen 2.6% year-over-year
  • Core PCE, which excludes volatile food and energy costs and is the Fed’s preferred inflation gauge, is expected to have risen 0.1% month-over-month and 2.6% year-over-year
  • U.S. University of Michigan consumer sentiment for June
  • Japan CPI, unemployment, and industrial production data
  • Germany unemployment data for June
